Commandery No. 382
President's
State of the Commandery
It is with great honor and respect, as President of KSJ Commandery 382 at Queen of Heaven, to acknowledge the current State of Affairs of our fine order as a Catholic Men’s Organization. Following in the footsteps in the shadow of St. John the Baptist, we are strong…in number and in service. This unit is extremely special. It consists of great minded men, who readily share and assist our mission goals with a bountiful array of diverse talents. We are extremely fortunate to have the Rev. Thomas Quinlivan, Capt., as the pastor here – but more than that, he is a fellow Brother of Noble Degree status. He provides us an environment to grow and perpetuate the ideals our Knighthood represents. This is a tremendous asset to our Commandery and his blessings have allowed for our successes. I was only recently elected to my position four months ago. This level of Knighthood which shines at #382 has been acquired through the hard works and endurance of multiple slated of officers throughout the years. The quality membership we retain confirms in my mind the aspirations for furthering our leadership for many years to come. We are the largest uniformed Commandery in the U.S.A. and coincidentally, happen to be the most growing in number throughout the Buffalo Grand. Through the tedious works of our own Commander, James Gibbons, our Military Uniforms are preserved and will be created locally to sustain our membership’s appearance reflecting details and professionalism to the Workshops on our Faith, ceremonial blessings of our uniforms, presiding before Bishop Edward Kmiec at the Cathedral and presenting on Delaware Ave. before the City of Buffalo, escorting First Eucharist and Confirmation candidates to the Altar of God, and participating at Christmas Eve and Holy Week Services, clearly express the desire and honor the Knights from #382 possesses’ in his heart. The enjoyment I see between our members interactions amongst each other at our meetings is the sole handiwork of God - the sharing of Good. The commitment is unwavering. In closing, our team is moving forward solidly. We are diverse, yet targeted and remain on mission. Our chain is strong due to the many unified links. Christ is our Team Captain. How can we not prevail ? I see many more fine accomplishments coming to #382 through the next year and kindly request your continued prayers for our membership and Mission to serve the Queen of Heaven Parish successfully¸Faithfully, and with the grandest display of Brotherhood and Fraternity. President
highest standards. He also, is responsible for presiding over the 4th Degree Chevaliers Order
within our Knighthood. #382 holds the future generations of the KSJ and consistently strives for political and military rewards for our fellow Brothers. We show much energy and challenges to the Grand, all in the name of the order of strength and progress.
I am so proud to see our Commandery of dedicated men, of all ages – 20’s - 90’s, that work together and share abilities whenever we sponsor a fund raising event so successfully. Our Elder, seasoned Knights, have done well. Your experience instills in us the drive and motivation to carry on in the name of St. John the Baptist. You have been the solid foundation here. Our incorporated transferees from closed Commanderies have successfully merged with 382 uneventfully. We are a family of Brothers whose character and demeanor is contagious and aspired towards.
