Commander's Message

Rolling into my final year as Commandery No. 382's Commander, I can say that I will be handing over the reins to very capable and talented Knights.  Many Knights have taking the opportunity to attend the scheduled "Schools of the Knight", attend the various Military Order Turn Outs for  Commandery No. 382 and the 2nd Regiment and to understand the importance of wearing the "Armor of God" in our daily life.

The Commandery has had the opporutnity to spear the movement within the Supreme in acquiring new vendors that allows us to uniform a Knight for under $1380.  This represents a more than $1200 savings from past vendors.  It does us proud to be able to say we can uniform a Knight immediately upon his request.

Commandery No. 382's Muster Roll itself attests to the strength of the Commandery.  As reported during the Supreme Annual Report the Commandery's Muster Roll numbers are as follows:

75 Knights Total
5 Clergy
48 Uniformed Knights (32 Active / 16 Retired), and
22 Non-Uniformed Brother Knights

Our strength was shaken this past year with the passing of Sir Knight Bernard Boehringer and to many, our mentor, Capt. Edsel Gifford.  It has been awhile since our last funeral honors were performed within the Commandery.  These were my first funeral honors that I had the honor of commanding and will attest that this responsibility was easier to bear with the presence of my Brother Knights.  We have been shaken, but we still stand together as a testament to the Commandery these fine Knights have left to our care.

It was humbling when my Brother Knights within the 2nd Regiment elected me to the post of 2nd Regiment Adjutant.  I know with the experiences learned during the past nine years serving as an officer within Commandery No. 382 that I am well prepared to except the challenges that follow.  Looking at the big picture I see a bright future for the 2nd Regiment in the years to come.  We rally around our faith and are seeing growth in the Regiment.

My Brother Knights, I  ask that you gather with me to the banner of FAITH, HOPE and CHARTIY.
St. John the Baptist Pray for Us.

Yours In Knighthood
Fraternal Blessings,
Capt. James M. Gibbons II
